SUMMER TOES and Pedicure Giveaway

Today my daughters and I got "Summer Toes."

What are "Summer Toes" you ask?

Well in New England Memorial Day generally heralds in the nice weather.  It's also the weekend most people open their summer homes and pool and put their boats in the water so Memorial Day DEFINITELY means "Summer" here.

It's also my daughter's birthday weekend.

For the past few years I've been planning to take my daughters to get their "first pedicures" at a salon down the street.  I haven't had a pedicure since my wedding ten years ago and the salon does kids pedicures (polish only) for $10 so I figured it would be a great way to celebrate the start of summer.

But money has been tight and so has our calendar so it's never happened.

Until today.

We had nothing planned and I made a sale at work that gave us a little extra cash so I called an made an appointment.  The girls LOVED it.

I loved it too.

I'm not going to lie.  It wasn't as relaxing as going without children, but the smiles on the girl's faces were totally worth it.

And it turns out that I had a gift card to the salon that I'd totally forgotten about so I still have a little bit of spare cash.  So in an effort to share the wealth, I'm going to give away TWO pedicures ($70) for you and a friend to go get your own "Summer Toes."

I Was Taking His Advice, Geesh!

Last night I called my husband from NYC in a panic.

"I'm pretty sure I'm having a nervous breakdown." I told him and went on to explain how I was overwhelmed by the work and the travel and some other personal things that have been going on.

He talked me off the ledge and then said, "You know what's good for stress?  Sex."

"Ok," I told him, looking out at the lights of New York.  "I'll call you in the morning and let you know if it helped."

"Wait, what!" he yelled.

And suddenly I was laughing.

Late to the Party

On Saturday night my husband and I went to bed at midnight.  We should have gone to bed earlier because we had a race at 8am but life has sucked balls lately and we had a lot to talk about.

He kissed me goodnight and then rolled over to go to sleep.  I lay there staring at the ceiling thinking about the stress I've been under and realized there would be no sleep for me that night unless serious measures were taken.

I turned to him, "Would it bother you if I grabbed Siri?"

He moaned.  "You stink." he said.

I took that as a "Go ahead." and jumped up and grabbed her.

Siri and I spent a few special moments together while my husband lay there with his back to us.  I struggled to be quiet.

When it was over he asked, "Are you done?"

"Yes." I said slowly, "Why?"

"Because I'm just getting revved up." he told me.

Now it was my turn to groan.

He kissed me.  One thing led to another.  And another.  And another.

Until I looked at him and said, "I was done before we started, can we get this show on the road?"
